It is important that Agents and counsellors
are kept up-to-date with evolving issues regarding international
education and to develop skills in counselling students. This
on-line training programme will develop the competency and skills
of agents and counsellors in a flexible manner to suit the time
frames of the agent. The course will develop communication skills,
counselling skills, ethics and codes of practice and will be assessed
by recognition of competence and skills.
The on-line counsellor training programme can be used directly
by Agents for their own staff or may be licensed to Educational
Institutions for use with their Agents.
The programme consists of three courses. Each course will consist
of the equivalent of three hours classroom study and at least
three hours of independent study per week.
Courses are:

- Ethical Aspects of Student Counselling
Each course can be taken on-line (so it is available to both
full and part-time students. You can work at your own pace as
time permits. Assessment will be by regular (on-line) tests and
a final on line examination to include on-line role play.
On successful completion, students will be awarded
with a "QISAN Certificate of Educational Counselling".
Successful graduates of the programme are then
required to complete a minimum period of nine (9) months practical
work as an education counsellor, under the direction of an approved,
experienced educational mentor.
During this period, the graduate will be required to maintain
a diary record detailing individual educational counselling experiences.
On submission of an acceptable diary record
