Shrewsbury Colleges Group is a popular and successful college located across three campuses in the centre of Shrewsbury. The college is a centre of academic excellence with the added emphasis on curriculum breadth and student enjoyment. There are over 1,700 students taking three or four A levels from a range of over 40 subjects available. The A level course is a two year linear course, and students also choose from a range of Enrichment activities to enhance their time at the College. There is also a wide range of Vocational courses available.

Located on the banks of the River Severn, the Shrewsbury Colleges Group site matches perfectly the variety of architecture and history that is evident in this Medieval Town. Shrewsbury has a population of about 95,000, is the county town of Shropshire and has a fantastic mix of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. The College has had an excellent record of examination achievements and success rates and in 2019 achieved an overall 99% pass rate with 100% in BTEC subjects, these results exceed the national average and demonstrates the commitment of the students and staff to excellence.
Over 70% of students continue into Higher Education/university when they leave the College and over 30% will go to Russell Group universities with over 20% continuing with the study of Maths and Science.
Each student is a member of a tutor group, and the Student Support Tutor supervises the academic and social progress of the students. The College is also committed to improving the whole learner’s experience through participation in sport and recreation, music and drama, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
A range of support services are available through ‘The Agency’. The Agency helps students to make the most of their time in College with a programme of activities tailored to the student.

Students applying for an A Level programme must meet our entry requirements of 5 grade 4’s or above at GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English Language.
You must also be able to demonstrate your English proficiency by holding an IELTS score of 5.5 or above. A Maths test may be required for those students who wish to study A level Maths.

The college provides accommodation with families within Shrewsbury at homes which are safe and accredited. All homestay families are approved by a local co-ordinator and are police checked.
Full payment for the year must be made to Shrewsbury Colleges Group in advance of arrival and before the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies will be issued.
There is also University style student accommodation for student applicants over the age of 18 when they start College.
